West Orange Homeowners Rehabilitation Program

About the Program

The West Orange Housing Rehabilitation Program (WOHRP) is sponsored by the Township of West Orange as part of the Township's Affordable Housing Program as mandated by the State of New Jersey. The program offers assistance to low and moderate-income Township homeowners. WOHRP is now able to lend eligible Township homeowners up to $35,000 at 0% interest to assist in home repairs. Application Process

Homeowners who wish to apply for rehabilitation assistance must submit a Rehabilitation Program Preliminary Application (PDF) as soon as possible. If your home is in need of basic repair and you meet the program income guidelines, you may be eligible.

The Essex County Division of Housing and Community Development has applications available for the Home Improvement Program (HIP). This program provides deferred loans to low-income and moderate-income homeowners who occupy a one-family to three-family home. Home improvements eligible for funding through this program include new heating system, roofing, plumbing, electrical and code violation abatements.
