[ARCHIVED] TROPICAL STORM HERMINE ALERT

The National Weather Service (NWS) has extended its Tropical Storm Watch to include the eastern portion of Essex County. A Tropical Storm Watch means tropical storm wind conditions are possible somewhere within this area and within the next 48 hours. However, exact conditions will depend on the storm track. The NWS has advised in their latest briefing that a slight change could change the expected conditions.

The West Orange Office of Emergency Management will continue to closely monitor Tropical Storm Hermine throughout the upcoming holiday weekend with The NWS , state and county agencies. In addition, the township will provide additional information and/or briefings about the storm as they become available. If necessary, we have personnel ready to respond and may activate our Emergency Operations Center.
