This Friday morning, at 10:30am in front of Town
Hall, the West Orange Police Department and the Township will
commemorate the anniversary, and the memory of Officer Laird, while
showing support for all our nation's police, by having a blue line
painted on Main Street in front of Police Headquarters and Town Hall.
If you are available, stop by for the brief ceremony to honor Officer
Laird, hear more about his story and to show continued support for the
hardworking men and women of the West Orange Police Department.
Friday, Oct. 28 is the 70th anniversary of the death of West Orange
Police Officer Daniel Laird, who died in the line of duty in the early
morning hours of Oct. 28, 1946.
