FREE presentation at the West Orange Public Library next Thursday. Come and learn about some long forgotten West Orange history.
Date: August 6, 2015 Time: 7:00 PM
Joseph Fagan will be discussing the fascinating story surrounding West Orange's oldest surviving artifact, which predates the Deceleration of Independence. Learn about this colonial clock, which once belonged to the Williams Family who were one of the first families to settle in the area. This clock subsequently passed through four generations of the family before disappearing. It was discovered in a flee market in Illinois in 2008, and has since made its way back to West Orange, mostly intact, on an incredible journey through the centuries.
Fagan's program will detail the entire history of the Williams Family and Tory Corner in West Orange as well as unveil and display the actual colonial clock during the program. Come learn how the cause of American Independence divided the Williams Family and Mary Williams emerged as a true American patriot and heroine.
