Liberty Middle School to Present “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown,” May 5-6
WEST ORANGE, NJ – Liberty Middle School will debut their annual Spring musical, “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown,” on May 5 and 6 beginning at 7:00 p.m.
“We are performing the revised Broadway version of "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown,” said Director Cynthia Rowberg. “It is the actual award-winning Broadway revival.”
The play revolves around Charlie Brown’s search to discover what it really means to be a “good man” and what he learns along the way.
There are approximately 25 cast members and 10 crew members. Assisting Rowberg are Choreographer Kim Carissimo, Set Designer Lissette Villalobos, Posters/Banner/t shirt design, Kristy Lopez, Sound and Lighting Director Vlada Jovanovic, and Pianist Matthew Schmidt. Rowberg is also the Vocal Coach.
“It is an ambitious show for middle school, but with the amount of talent and work ethic the students at Liberty have, they make it look easy, and it is not an easy show. The music is particularly difficult - for instance, "Book Report" involves the 6 leads singing 6 different parts at the same time,” Rowberg enthused.
The show will be held in the Liberty Middle auditorium, One Kelly Drive, on May 5 and 6 beginning at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $10.00 for all and can be purchased in the Liberty Middle School Office. It is recommended that tickets be purchased in advance since the shows have sold out two years in a row and tickets at the door may not be available.
