Homeowners Rehabilitation Program
About the Program
The West Orange Housing Rehabilitation Program (WOHRP) is sponsored by the Township of West Orange as part of the Township's Affordable Housing Program mandated by the state. The program offers assistance to low and moderate-income township homeowners. WOHRP is now able to lend eligible township homeowners up to $35,000 at 0% interest to help fix up their homes. Application Process
Homeowners who wish to apply for rehabilitation assistance must submit a
Rehabilitation Program Preliminary Application as soon as possible. If your home is in need of basic repair and if you meet the program income guidelines, you may be eligible.

The Essex County Division of Housing and Community Development has applications available for the Home Improvement Program (HIP). This program provides deferred loans to low- and moderate-income homeowners who occupy a one- to three-family home. Home improvements eligible for funding through this program include new heating systems, roofing, plumbing, electrical and code violation abatement's.
