Zoning Enforcement & Property Maintenance

The Zoning Department and Property Maintenance is committed to the continued enforcement of our housing and zoning ordinances.  The team consists of a zoning officer, two  property maintenance inspectors and a part-time fire inspector.  All illegal uses, permit inquiries, commercial inquiries and site plan review is handled by zoning.

The team is charged with the enforcement of Chapter 25 (Zoning) and Chapter 14 (Housing) of the Township's ordinances.  

Inquires within the department include:
  • Illegal uses
  • Tree issues;
  • Permit inquires;
  • Commercial and residential enforcement issues;
  • Site plan review;
  • CCO inspections.

Permits & Applications

For some permits, prior zoning approval is required.  Zoning approval is required for, but not limited to, the following:
  • Additions
  • Dumpsters
  • Decks
  • Fences
  • Greenhouses
  • New Home Construction
  • Outdoor Playsets
  • Pools
  • Sheds
  • Standby Power Generators
  • Temporary Storage Containers
For zoning review, a copy of your property survey and if applicable, architectural plans to scale, must be submitted at time of application showing exact location and dimensions of work to be done.
