If possible, stay home from work, school, and running errands when you are sick. This will help prevent spreading your illness to others. When you stay at home because you are generally sick, you may utilize any sick time you have accrued in order to be paid while not at work. This does NOT include other paid time off (PTO), such as personal days or vacation days unless specifically approved by your Department Head.
When you stay at home because you or a family member is infected with COVID-19, quarantined or home because of a verified COVID-19 related school closing, you may utilized any paid time off (PTO) you have accrued in order to be paid while not at work.
Additionally, if COVID-19 related absences Cause you to run out of PTO, other employees with Sick time remaining may donate that sick time to you.
If you’d like to work from home because of a COVID-19 related absence and your job is on the list of positions eligible for telecommuting, you may be able to work from home and not have to use your PTO if the IT Department and your Department Head approve.
