Currently the State of New Jersey is in a drought watch, which means the public is encouraged to voluntarily practice wise water use in order to preserve supplies. A Watch indicates that conditions are dry but not yet significantly so. During a drought Watch, the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) closely monitors drought indicators (including precipitation, stream flows, reservoir and ground water levels, and water demands) and consults with affected water suppliers. Please visit the following link to the NJDEP website for drought information https://dep.nj.gov/drought/ . If water restrictions are put in place, this information will be communicated to residents by New Jersey American Water Company. This information will also be posted on our Township website and pushed out through social media and our Township email blast.
